KIB gets ready for big race, 2019 Kuwait Marathon
Event part of bank’s sponsorship under the slogan ‘Run for Life’
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: As part of its title sponsorship of the Kuwait Marathon 2019 under the slogan ‘Run for Life’, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) announced that today is the last day that participants can collect marathon kits at Shaheed Park. Organized by Circuit+, the 2019 Kuwait Marathon will kick off on December 21 at the newly built Sheikh Jaber Causeway. Open to participants of all ages, the marathon will include four categories, including: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. Participants will be able to walk, run or combine both.
All final safety and security procedures have been completed in preparation for the start of the marathon, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety of all participants. The event will also feature a program packed with entertainment activities for both participants and other attendees, as well as a distribution of valuable prizes to reward marathon winners.
On his part, General Manager of the Retail Banking Department at the KIB, Othman Tawfeqe added: “KIB’s participation as a title sponsor came as part of our strong belief in the importance of this one-of-a-kind marathon, as it is the first event to be held at the Sheikh Jaber Causeway. The marathon managed to attract a large number of participants of varying ages, and is expected to grow and become more successful over the next coming years.”
On this occasion, Senior Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia said: “Our sponsorship of this marathon comes as part of our ongoing social initiatives in line with our social commitment and our strategic direction to play an active role in positively impacting the local community. Additionally, we have always sought to promote health awareness by encouraging people to exercise and devote attention to the quality of their food and overall lifestyle.”
Moreover, Najia noted that KIB will be looking forward to an exciting, fun family day for all participants and their families. A number of representatives from the Bank will also be present at a dedicated booth during the race, where they will provide a number of fun activities, as well as competitions and awards for marathon participants and other attendees.
