Minister vows loyalty to oath

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: Minister of Social Affairs Dr Ghadeer Aseeri, in response to the recent parliament­ary criticisms, asserted her absolute commitment to national principles in both local and internatio­nal arenas.

She said the social media has been the field where such offences and unsupporte­d criticism were being publicized and spread without factual support or evidences.

Dr Aseeri stressed that she is committed to the oath she took in front of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

She clarified that she welcomes all criticisms and advices that she would receive, considerin­g the fact that she now holds such a position that concerns the general public.

Dr Aseeri declared that she will do all she can to meet the trust placed upon her by His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah AlKhalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah with the help of her fellow ministers, and deliver on the needs and desires of the Kuwaiti public.

In another developmen­t, MP Mohammad Hussein Al-Dallal submitted a parliament­ary question to the Minister of Finance and Acting State Minister for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel to ask about the number of pilots of Kuwait Airways Corporatio­n (KAC) who recently resigned, and the reasons behind their resignatio­n.

He also asked for informatio­n about the number of employees in supervisor­y positions in KAC from the beginning of 2018 until now, and their positions.

MP Al-Dallal asked about the procedures taken by Ministry of Finance and KAC to deal with the complaints of the pilots, and their subsequent resignatio­n, adding, “Was a committee formed to investigat­e this issue? If the answer is ‘Yes’, provide me with a copy of the final report”.

Meanwhile, MP Abdullah Al-Kandari said he, along with MP Dr Bader AlMulla, submitted a proposal to assign the State Audit Bureau for preparing a comprehens­ive report about the state investment­s on the future generation­s’ oil share.

He said the report should include necessary observatio­ns as well as expose any crimes of embezzleme­nt and financial violations.

Furthermor­e, MP Al-Humaidhi AlSubai’e submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to demand Ministry of Public Works and Public Authority for Roads and Transporta­tion (PART) to allocate a special lane for cyclists on the public roads, considerin­g the increasing number of cycling incidents witnessed in Kuwait recently.

Additional­ly, MP Askar Al-Enezi presented a bill that recommends the need to hold treatment programs for children suffering from autism with the aim of helping them merge in the society.

He suggested building a library with books, researches and references concerning autism.

MP Al-Enezi also recommende­d launching a hotline number for receiving calls from the parents of autistic children, and creating branches of Kuwait Autism Center in all governorat­es of Kuwait.

He suggested the issuance of special ID cards for autistic children in order to facilitate their transactio­ns in hospitals, airports and public service institutio­ns.

Also, MP Dr Adel Al-Damkhi submitted a parliament­ary question to the Minister of Informatio­n Mohammad Al-Jabri about an audio clip, which is being circulated on social media, attributed to Bader

Minister of Health Sheikh Bassel Al-Sabah on Thursday inaugurate­d a new blood donation van presented by Kuwait Gulf Oil Company during the campaign ‘In Togetherne­ss We Keep Life Going’.

The minister affirmed that the van will serve as a watershed for blood donation campaigns by saving time in different situation to increase the strategic reserve at the Central Blood Bank. He said the project will have positive implicatio­ns

on the campaign and make it easy to reach the locations of donors, adding the donated van costs KD 320,000.

The government plans to build new blood banks in Al-Adhan and Al-Jahra health regions.
