Kuwait’s bourse winds up week in positive territory

Gulf Bank gains 5 fils, National Ind Group dips

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: The Kuwait Stock Exchange on Thursday closed its weekly trading with the rise of the general index of 33.4 points to reach the level of 6,195.18 points or 0.54 percent.

A total of 179.4 million shares were traded through 7,935 transactio­ns valued at KD57 million or about $188 million. In today’s trade of 123 companies, the market saw 65 gainers compared to 35 losers while 23 remained flat.

The main market index rose 16.3 points to reach the level of 4,860.8 points or 0.44 percent, as 89.8 million shares were traded through 2,847 cash deals valued at KD5.2 million (about 1$7.16 million).

The premier market index rose 41.7 points to reach the level of 6,870.3 points or 0.61 percent with 89.6 million shares exchanged through 5,088 transactio­ns valued at KD51.7 million (about $170.6 million).

Remaya, Cinema, Qiwain A, Gulf Cement and Resorts companies were among the top gainers; the heavily traded shares were those of Aayan and Watani, Ahli United, Investors and Betec, while those accounted for the lowest included Eid, Al-Rai, AlMadina, Petrogulf and Al-Khaleeji.

National Shooting Company (K.P.S.C.) was the gainer of the day which rallied with 19.51 percent to finish with 9.8 fils, Kuwait National Cinema sprinted 9.91 percent to stand next, while the steepest decline 8.45 percent was recorded by Al Eid Food Company. Aayan Leasing & Investment Company topped the volume with 25.1 million shares.

Kuwait National Cinema gained 86 fils with current price of 954 fils compared to the previous price of 868 fils. Boubyan Petrochemi­cal Company rose by 15 fils through 1.09 million shares traded with current price of 688 fils compared to the previous price of 673 fils. National Bank of Kuwait increased by 10 fils after trading 15.3 million shares with current price of 1,069 fils compared to the previous price of 1,059 fils.

Al Eid Food Company lost 6 fils with current price of 65 fils compared to the previous price of 71 fils. Warba Bank declined by 5 fils through 4.5 million shares traded with current price of 277 fils compared to 282 fils the previous day. Al-Ahleia Insurance Company also went down by 5 fils with current price of 425 fils.

Motionless companies included Humansoft at 3,075 fils, Ahli United Bank (B.S.C) at 309 fils through 13.8 million shares traded, Mezzan Holding Company at 500 fils, Integrated Holding Company KCSC at 538 fils after trading 1.5 million shares, and National Investment­s Company at 133 fils through 3.3 million shares traded.

Gulf Bank climbed 5 fils through 10.5 million shares traded with current price of 300 fils compared to 295 fils the previous day, while Gulf Cable and Electrical Industries Company

plunged by 4 fils with current price of 470 fils compared to 474 fils the previous day. Alafco Aviation Lease and Finance also dipped 4 fils with current price of 269 fils compared to the previous price of 273 fils. Alimtiaz Investment Group Company remained at 122 fils after trading 2.9 million shares.

Agility Public Warehousin­g Company gained 8 fils through 3.9 million shares traded with current price of 800 fils compared to 792 fils the previous day. Kuwait Finance House rose by 5 fils after trading 11.9 million shares with current price of 800 fils compared to the previous price of 795 fils. Mabanee Company surged 4 fils through 1.1 million shares traded with current price of 857 fils compared to the previous price of 853 fils. Zain also increased by 4 fils after trading 9.1 million shares with current price of 584 fils compared to the previous price of 580 fils. Boubyan Bank increased by 3 fils through 2.8 million shares traded with current price of 611 fils compared to 608 fils the previous day. Aayan Real Estate Company increased by 2.6 fils through 1.2 million shares traded with current price of 78 fils compared to the previous price of 75.4 fils.

Companies that rose by 2 fils included Kuwait Projects Company (Holding) with current price of 218 fils through 2.2 million shares traded compared to 216 fils the previous day, Kuwait Internatio­nal Bank with current price of 275 fils after trading 3.5 million shares compared to the previous price of 273 fils, Al Masaken Internatio­nal Real Estate Developmen­t Company with current price of 44 fils compared to the previous price of 42 fils, Soor Fuel Marketing Company with current price of 123 fils compared to 121 the previous day, and Markaz with current price of 105 fils compared to the previous price of 103 fils.

Other gainers include Tamdeen Real Estate Company increased by 7 fils with current price of 327 fils compared to the previous price of 320 fils, Umm Al Qaiwan General Investment Company P.S.C. surged 6.5 fils with current price of 79 fils compared to 72.5 fils the previous day, Kuwait Portland Cement Company climbed 6 fils with current price of 978 fils compared to the previous price of 972 fils, Kamco Investment Company went up by 5.1 fils with current price of 90.8 fils compared to the previous price of 85.7 fils,

Viva increased by 5 fils with current price of 750 fils compared to the previous price of 745 fils, Gulf Cement Company rose by 4 fils with current price of 57 fils compared to the previous price of 53 fils, Arkan Al-Kuwait Real Estate Company surged 3.5 fils with current price of 89 fils compared to the previous price of 85.5 fils, Ahli United Bank climbed 3 fils with current price of 328 fils compared to the previous price of 325 fils, Tamdeen Investment Company also rose by 3 fils with current price of 324 fils compared to 321 fils the previous day, National Shooting Company (K.P.S.C) surged 1.6 fils with current price of 9.8 fils compared to the previous price of 8.2 fils.

The National Real Estate Company climbed 1.5 fils with current price of 88.5 fils compared to the previous price of 87 fils, Salbookh Trading Company also rose by 1.5 fils with current price of 48 fils compared to the previous price of 46.5 fils, National Cleaning Company increased by 1.3 fils with current price of 61.5 fils compared to the previous price of 60.2 fils, Mena Real Estate Company also rose by 1.3 fils with current price of 41 fils compared to the previous price of 39.7 fils, Kuwait Finance & Investment Company climbed 1.4 fils with current price of 50.4 fils compared to the previous price of 49 fils, and Al-Enma Real Estate Company surged 1.1 fils with current price of 67.9 fils compared to 66.8 fils.

Companies which increased by 1 fil include Ras Al Khaimah Company for White Cement Constructi­on Materials with current price of 66 fils, Osos Holding Group Company with current price of 102 fils, Educationa­l Holding Group with current price of 430 fils, Acico with current price of 127 fils, Heavy Engineerin­g Industries and Ship Building Company with current price of 407 fils, Al-Deera Holding Company with current price of 18.5 fils, Coast Investment & Developmen­t Company with current price of 37.5 fils, Commercial Facilities Company with current price of 217 fils, Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait with current price of 261 fils, Qurain Petrochemi­cal Industries Company with current price of 311 fils, and Burgan Bank which traded 1.4 million shares with current price of 307 fils.

One fil losers include GFH Financial Group (B.S.C.) with current price of 71.5 fils, Kuwait Investment Company with current price of 138 fils, Salhia Real Estate Company with current price of 419 fils, Arabi Holding Group Company with current price of 277 fils, and Kuwait Company for Process Plant Constructi­on & Contractin­g with current price of 259 fils.

In addition, Alrai Media Group Company plunged 2.8 fils with current price of 34.1 fils, National Industries Group (Holding) dipped 2 fils along with Combined Group Contractin­g Company with current price of 243 fils and 260 fils respective­ly, Gulf Investment House decreased by 1.8 fils with current price of 70.5 fils, Specialtie­s Group Holding Company lost 1.7 fils with current price of 78.2 fils, and Gulf Petroleum Investment went down by 1.1 fils with current price of 20 fils.
