Palestine Committee in Jordanian Parliament hails Kuwait’s stances
Other countries urged to emulate Kuwait’s example
AMMAN, Dec 29, (KUNA): The Palestine Committee in the Jordanian Parliament praised Kuwait’s stances towards the Palestinian cause, as committee members expressed thanks and appreciation for Kuwait efforts in this regard.
This came during a meeting held Sunday by Kuwait Ambassador to Jordan and its non-resident Ambassador to Palestine, Aziz Al-Daihani, with members of the Palestine Committee in the Jordanian Parliament.
Chairman of Palestine Committee of the Jordanian Parliament Yahya Al-Saud said during the members of the committee praised Kuwait efforts especially during its non-permanent membership in the Security Council, which lasted for two years.
Al-Saud also expressed hope that the Arab countries would follow Kuwait steps by launching a diplomatic mission in Palestine, which will strengthen stand of Palestinian people.
For his part, Ambassador AlDaihani,
in a statement to KUNA, and Kuwait TV after the meeting, expressed his pride in Kuwait’s stances in international and regional forums regarding the Palestinian issue. Kuwait has a historical role towards the Palestinian case in international and regional forums, as he stressed positions of Kuwait and Jordan towards the Palestinian issue and affirming the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, he said.
Ambassador Al-Daihani also expressed pride of Kuwait’s stances regarding the Palestinian issue during its two years non-permanent membership in the Security Councils.
Meanwhile, Kuwait coordinated with the Palestinians on the draft resolution on securing international protection for the Palestinian people in coordination with the Palestinian delegation, which put forward the idea of protecting the Palestinians from the Israeli occupation forces.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issued at the end of last October an Amiri decree appointing AlDaihani, a non-resident ambassador of Kuwait to Palestine.
On December 22, Al-Daihani presented his credentials to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as the first ambassador of Kuwait to Palestine.
