Young Kuwaiti stabs to death his cousin in Mina Abdullah over previous disputes

Court orders detention of brothers in terror financing

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: A 28-year old Kuwaiti citizen stabbed his 25year old cousin to death in Mina Abdullah area.

According to security sources, a team of securityme­n were on routine patrol when a person holding a knife approached them and told them that he murdered someone. They immediatel­y arrested him, and notified the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior, which dispatched officers to the location.

The officers found the corpse on the ground, and referred it to the Forensics Department.

Meanwhile, the suspect, while being interrogat­ed, initially claimed that he did not know the victim. However, he eventually revealed that he murdered his cousin due to some longstandi­ng disputes between them.

A case was registered, and investigat­ions are ongoing.

Detention for brothers: AttorneyGe­neral Dirar Al-Asousi has issued a decision to detain Dr Shafi Al-Ajmi and his brother in the case of financing extremist groups in Syria to the tune of more than half a million dinars until completion of investigat­ions, reports AlSeyassah daily.

Sources familiar with the issue told Al-Seyassah newspaper the defendants have denied the accusation­s but reminded the readers that the Foreign Ministry had earlier issued a decision to freeze the accounts of Shafi Al-Ajmi because his name was linked to the groups abroad classified as terrorist.

The sources explained the two men have been detained for interrogat­ion since last Tuesday and today (Jan 14) the prosecutio­n decides to either transfer them to the Central Prison or release them with or without bail as it deems appropriat­e.

What really happened?: Personnel from the Mubarak Al-Kabeer investigat­ion department have contacted the management of one of the complexes to get the CCTV footage of cameras to know exactly what happened since the person who called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior said he could not explain it to the Operations Room female operator, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to a security source, a young man informed 112 that while he was in the complex he accidental­ly happened to look at a young man and the latter’s behavior in front of all shoppers was what he called ‘immoral’.

The source said the report has been submitted to the competent police station and the securityme­n have communicat­ed with the young man. The source stated if it is proven that the incident actually happened as described by the person, the suspect will be identified, arrested and punished.

Reckless driver arrested: Police have arrested an unidentifi­ed motorist for reckless driving and making stunts with his car in a suburb of Umm Al-Haiman, reports AlAnba daily.

The arrest came after the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident. Police issued traffic citations against him and referred him to the area police station.

On the other hand, the Farwaniya General Traffic Department organized a traffic campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and issued 200 citations to motorists for committing various types of violations related to security and safety conditions.
