Answer: No, the Kuwait Labour Law doesn’t clothe you with that right as you are enjoined to work three years for the company before you can ask for a release. If however, the company has no objection to leaving them after two years, then you can go ahead and file for a release and it will be granted.

I am from India but now in Kuwait. I have one big problem, please can you give me suggestion. I came to Kuwait 3 years 6 months ago. I have completed 3 years but the company is refusing to release me. How can I get release from my company?

I have been working in Kuwait for the last 2 years. And I don’t have degree certificate. I was recruited from India. My question is, I want to get release from my current employer. Is it possible? My residence will expire after 35 days from today. My company said they can’t renew my residence so they asked me to find new job. They will give release and same time they asked me to submit resigning letter. I already submitted. Now I got job offer, but now my previous company is telling me to find job in another company so that it gives me release but I don’t have enough time to search for another job what should I do? Please reply this question it’s very important for me.

Answer: So far as the company that recruited you from India has no objection to your visa being transferred to another company, nothing stops you from doing that. The problem of not having enough time to look for another job can only be solved between you and your company. Indeed if the company is willing to help you, it can apply for visa 14 for you to give you more time to look for a new job after the expiry of your residence in 35 days.

My Kuwait driving licence was issued in March 2009. The expiry mention in my licence in March 2019. In 2016 I moved to Dubai and now I have a valid UAE driving licence.

Now my company wants me to move back to Kuwait.

Can I renew my existing licence?

If no, can I apply for new licence using my UAE licence, without reappearing any test?

Can I drive in Kuwait using UAE licence during visa stamping time?

Answer: When you exitted Kuwait in 2016 after cancelling your residence permit, your driving licence also stood cancelled. You can therefore not renew something that you don’t have. Consequently, when you return to Kuwait, you can’t renew your cancelled Kuwaiti driving licence.

Applying for a new driving licence in Kuwait on the basis of your UAE licence will depend on your nationality. So you have to check out to see if your country is one of the lucky ones whose citizens can exchange their driving licences with that of Kuwait. As to whether you can drive in Kuwait using your UAE driving licence while waiting for your visa to be stamped. We advise that you seek that information from the Kuwait Traffic Department.

I am an electrical engineer working in Kuwait for the past two years. In January 2019, I transferred to another company but I haven’t received salary since last October, although they have promised to pay. I’ve officially filed for resignation but the company is asking for money before signing the release paper, so I decided to file a case against the company for my three months unpaid salary but I am hesitating, because I didn’t complete one year with them. Kindly advise on what to do.
