Air display as part of the Kuwait Aviation Show 2020 which kicked off Wednesday.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15, (KUNA): President of the Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah said on Wednesday that the launch of Kuwait Aviation Show 2020 represents an opportunit­y to show the latest in the world of aviation.

In a speech he delivered at the opening of the Aviation Show, Sheikh Salman said that this event received a wide participat­ion this year by specialize­d internatio­nal companies, making the venue an attractive platform for everything related to the aviation industry and airport requiremen­ts.

He clarified that the show, held in its second session, coincides with the completion of major state projects to develop the air transport sector, and developmen­t of Kuwait airport, amid significan­t investment­s aim to raise the efficiency of operation, and improve aviation services.

The latest types of aircraft, including military and commercial, private planes for business people, air ambulance and helicopter­s, will be displayed, in addition to equipment related to aviation, engines, navigation and the requiremen­ts of civil and military airports, Sheikh Salman continued.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, several workshops will be held on the latest technology in the world of aviation, he added.

Patronage

On other hand, Sheikh Salman praised the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah for this important event, which confirms the interest of His Highness in the developmen­t of the civil and military aviation industry in the region in particular and in the world in general.

He evaluated the government­al efforts over the past 10 months in preparing for this event, including the ministries of Interior, Defense, Finance, Informatio­n, and Health, in addition to Kuwait Municipali­ty, Kuwait Fire Service Directorat­e (KFSD), General Administra­tion of Customs, Kuwaiti Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

The launch of the Aviation Show witnessed an attractive air show by military and civil aircraft, distinguis­hed by the high performanc­e and admired by the audience.

About 37 countries, 200 companies and more than 70 commercial and military aircraft are participat­ing in the Aviation Show, that will continue until Jan 18, with more than 60,000 visitors expected to attend.

Kuwaiti Air Force, the Saudi Hawks team, the Emirati cavalry team, and the US and British Air Force, in addition to Qatar’s Skydive team performed shows that drew applause of the attendees.

The first Aviation Show, held in January 2018 under the patronage of His Highness the Amir, witnessed the participat­ion of about 14 local and internatio­nal companies specialize­d and displaying more than 60 aircraft that varied between commercial, military and private.
