-

To encourage curiosity and to foster a spirit of enquiry, FAIPS DPS organized an inter-school quiz competition for the students of Grades IV and V to provide a platform for the young quizzers from various Indian schools in Kuwait to explore quizzing in a fun way.

The event held on Jan 16 at FAIPS Multi-Purpose Hall was graced by K.G. Alexander, General Manager of NBTC as the Chief Guest while Rev C. V. Mathew, Vicar of Immanuel Marthoma Parish was the Guest of Honor.

The six competing schools included Gulf Indian School, ICSK - Amman Branch, ICSK- Khaitan Branch, IES - Bhavans, SIMS and FAIPS. The teams, with two participants from each school, answered with confidence and aplomb, as they faced a volley of questions ranging from Current Affairs to General Knowledge.

The quiz comprised puzzle, audio-visual, rapid fire and buzzer rounds. An additional round ‘Living on the Edge’, was introduced which gave the participants an opportunity to double their points if the question was answered correctly. The questions were hidden behind numbers and each team got to choose a number and answer the question hidden behind it. This ensured transparency in conducting the quiz. The audience were also put to the test by the quiz master.

The results were announced by the Principal, Ravi Ayanoli. Gulf Indian School, with an impressive score of 170 points emerged victorious while FAIPS with 150 points and Salmiya Indian Model School at 145 points clinched the second and third places respectively. The winning teams were awarded with attractive prizes, certificates and rolling trophies. The other teams were given participation certificates and consolation prizes. The event concluded on a note of camaraderie and good cheer.
