Junior athletes in limelight with 6th edition of Jiu-Jitsu Challenge Championship
Come Thursday, Feb 20, it will be time for promising young Jiu-Jitsu athletes to take center-stage as the sixth edition of the Jiu-Jitsu Challenge Championship, a premier tournament for athletes under the age of 18 organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF) kicks off at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi. Running from Feb 20 to 23, the Jiu-Jitsu Challenge Championship will be contested across four categories – Kids (male), Kids (female), Juvenile Boys, and Juvenile Girls.

Day one of the Jiu-Jitsu Challenge Championship will feature the Kids competition for holders of the white, gray, yellow, and orange belt. Day two and three will see participants in the aspirants, teens and Juvenile Girls and Boys categories holding white, gray, yellow, orange, green, and blue belts in action.
The Championship has attracted a strong response fulfilling 90 percent of its registration quota with a full week left for the Championship to begin. The Jiu-Jitsu Challenge Championship will comply with the UAEJJF Technical Committee’s new ruling that requires the mat referee to call an end to a bout in the event of an athlete being subjected to a submission move without waiting for a tap out.
This new ruling has been prescribed by the Technical Committee to ensure the complete safety of participants in this prestigious Under-18 tournament.
