AIDS-hit Filipino running massage parlour

Scores said to be infected after ‘having fun’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: Personnel from the General Department of Residence Investigat­ions raided a massage institute run by a Filipino, arrested him and referred him to the concerned authoritie­s because the man is allegedly suffering from AIDS, reports Al-Rai daily.

The arrest came when a teenager who is less than 15 years old told his family that he went to a massage parlor and the masseur lured him and committed an immoral act.

The family reported the matter to security authoritie­s and following the arrest of the Filipino, he admitted that he is HIV positive and has told police he had ‘sex’ with several people and gave names and telephone numbers of some of them while the names of others he said he does not remember.

Police also found in the parlor a special room which the suspect had prepared specially for the purpose of ‘having fun’.

According to sources police have checked the CCTV footage of the camera installed in the parlor to identify all people who visited the parlor.

The detectives also summoned the sponsor, who was found to have received 500 dinars as a guarantee, from the Filipino to run the parlor.

60 and above to go:

The Ministry of Interior has begun the process of summoning officers including senior officials who have reached the age of 60 and above and those who meet the conditions for retirement, especially after the recent promotions of officers from the rank of colonel to brigadier, reports Al-Rai daily.

A source familiar with the issue said a brigadier was summoned and asked to submit a request for retirement.

Victim of e-fraud:

In just 60 seconds a Kuwaiti lost 1,800 dinars from his bank account, allegedly to a fraud wizard, reports Al-Anba daily.

Although several times it has been reported in newspapers and all media channels warning expatriate­s and Kuwaitis not to fall prey to those who impersonat­e bank employees and ask for their bank accounts numbers and pertaining details, the Kuwaiti allegedly did follow that and ended up losing the money.

Riqqa Police Station, the case has been handed over to the Electronic Crimes Investigat­ion Department of the Ministry of Interior.

This time the suspect allegedly succeeded in convincing his victim that he will not be able to use his ATM card unless he updates it within 60 seconds and that the bank will freeze his account.

Colonel arrested:

One of the directors working for the General Traffic Department with the rank of colonel has been referred for the Sentences Enforcemen­t Department for allegedly issuing a dud cheque, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily quoting security sources said the man was arrested by the immigratio­n officers at the Nuwaiseeb border point when he was about to leave for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mocking police:

A popular Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for mocking police officers on social media by saying, “My wrist watch costs more than your salary”.

According to security sources, the suspect uploaded the “SnapChat” video after securityme­n confiscate­d his driving license because he violated traffic rules and regulation­s.
