Thomas scores career-high 31 as No. 11 Arizona women win

DePaul wraps up Big East title

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb 22, (AP): Sam Thomas scored a career-high 31 points and No. 11 Arizona, missing its leading scorer, still rolled past Utah 85-69.

Thomas, a junior, made 8 of 13 shots and all 13 of her free throws for the Wildcats (22-4, 11-4 Pac12), who won their fourth straight game and have won 22 regular-season contests for the first time since 2003-04. They also have 11 conference wins for the first time since 2004-05.

Lucia Alonso added 14 points, Dominique McBryde 12 and Cate Reese 11.

Brynna Maxwell made 5 of 8 from the arc and scored 22 points with five assists while Dru Gylten scored 16 points for the Utes (12-14, 5-10), who have lost three in a row.

DePaul 87, Georgetown 69

In Washington, Sonya Morris scored 22 points, Chante Stonewall had 20 and No. 12 DePaul beat Georgetown 87-69 with the Blue Demons wrapping up the outright Big East regular-season title.

Morris made seven 3-pointers and had nine rebounds. Deja Church and Maya Stovall added 11 points each while Kelly Campbell had 10 rebounds and nine assists to go with six points.

Taylor Barnes led Georgetown with 13 points.

Arizona St 65, Colorado St 59

In Boulder, Colorado, Reili Richardson and Ja’Tavia Tapley scored 16 points apiece, each with seven in the fourth quarter, to help No. 21 Arizona State rally for a 65-59 win over Colorado.

Tapley scored the first seven points in a 10-0 run that gave the Sun Devils a 55-51 lead on Robbi Ryan’s 3-pointer with 1:24 left in the game. Ryan finished with 15 points.

Emma Clarke had 12 points to lead Colorado (15-11, 4-11), which led 51-45 on Peanut Tuitele’s jumper early in the fourth quarter.

Tuitele and Quinessa Caylao-Do added 11 points each for the Buffaloes.

Missouri St 76, Evansville 62

In Springfiel­d, Missouri, Alexa Willard scored 14 points, Abby Hipp added 11 points and 12 rebounds, and No. 23 Missouri State beat Evansville 76-62.

Brice Calip had 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Bears (22-3, 12-1 Missouri Valley Conference), who trailed for the only time when the Aces (3-22, 0-14) scored the opening basket on Lola Bracy’s 3-pointer.

Abby Feit led the Aces with 17 points and made 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Bracy added 12 points and A’Niah Griffin scored 10.

Princeton 66, Harvard 45

In Princetown, New Jersey, Bella Alarie scored 18 points, Taylor Baur had 11 points and seven rebounds, and No. 25 Princeton beat Harvard 66-45 for its 16th straight victory.

Princeton (20-1, 9-0 Ivy League) has won five straight games by 15plus points, totaling 12 decisions by 20 or more. Before this season, the

Maddie Stuhlreyer led Harvard (14-8, 5-4) with 11 points. The Crimson shot just 26.6% from the field, including 5 of 28 from 3-point range, and turned it over 19 times.
