Four warehouses of Doha Port allocated to MoH

Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) announced the allocation of four warehouses belonging to Doha Port to Ministry of Health to use for storing medical equipment, reports Al-Anba daily.

Doha Port Atif Al-Shatti said this decision is part of the efforts exerted by the state in the face of the repercussi­ons of the spread of the new COVID-19.

He revealed that representa­tives of Ministry of Health were briefed during a joint meeting on several storage areas belonging to the Doha Port to be used as warehouses to store medical equipment and supplies.

Al-Shatti affirmed the keenness of KPA to stand with the state institutio­ns in providing all consumable goods and supplies, including medical needs.

KUWAIT CITY, March 24: Director of Ministry of Electricit­y and Water’s Public Relations Department Iqbal AlTayyar revealed that a new mechanism has been laid down to receive corporate transactio­ns in the ministry, reports AlSeyassah daily.

She explained that this mechanism requires preparing a special office for the registry, and implementi­ng a special mechanism to receive corporate transactio­ns outside the ministry’s building. This is coupled with guidelines for non-proliferat­ion of the coronaviru­s and ensuring commitment of visitors to the preventive measures to avoid congestion while receiving these transactio­ns.

A text message will be sent to the customers’ mobile phones after completion of these transactio­ns.

In a recent press statement, Al-Tayyar said, “the ministry started receiving corporate customers Sunday morning. It activated this new mechanism with the aim of continuing the works of the technical sectors, especially since Ministry of Electricit­y and Water is a service ministry that has different requiremen­ts and materials in all sectors”.

Condition

On the other hand, informed sources in Ministry of Electricit­y and Water affirmed the readiness of the ministry’s sectors to deal with any breakdowns or interrupti­ons under the current conditions that the country is going through and the measures taken by the state to prevent spread of the coronaviru­s.

They explained that the Emergency Management Department has approximat­ely 200 emergency generators of different capacities affiliated to the Emergency Department in the Electrical Distributi­on Networks Sector. The department is ready to deal with any malfunctio­ns that may occur in all governorat­es.

Also, the emergency teams are ready to deal with any interrupti­ons or accidents that the electricit­y and water network may be exposed to around the clock. They will handle the reports and complaints received via the hotline number related to interrupti­ons of electricit­y or water services.

Meanwhile, under the slogan ‘Stay at Home’, the Al- Ahmadi Hospital pharmacy, affiliated to Kuwait Oil Company, has issued a circular to its beneficiar­ies to use WhatsApp applicatio­n from Saturday, March 29, 2020, reports Al-Rai daily.

the circular sated, “To ensure your health and not to spread viruses, we will provide you with a service request for re-dispensing and delivery of medicines through WhatsApp, provided that the name, medical file number, phone number, delivery address and copy of the civil card are provided.”

The circular pointed out that the WhatsApp number is 95514418 and the service is available daily from 9 am to 1 pm except Friday and that the pharmacist will respond as soon as possible
