More than 120 volunteers take initiative to serve country through ‘Ammar Ya Kuwait’
KUWAIT CITY, March 28: Honorary President of the “Ammar Ya Kuwait” campaign Sheikha Amal Al-Hamoud revealed that more than 120 volunteers have taken the initiative to serve their nation in these difficult times, reports AlAnba daily.
A total of 18 teams were assigned in various governorates to support government agencies.
Sheikha Amal said the efforts of volunteers in such circumstances deserve appreciation and praise, as they work without waiting for any material or moral compensation. She pointed out the people of Kuwait have been doing this since ancient times.
She stressed the importance of the voluntary initiative in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality, Qairawan security operatives and the Board of Directors of Qairawan Cooperative Society. She affirmed this reflects the national sense to do everything in the service of the country and its people, noting that volunteer work has been embraced by the people of Kuwait over the ages.
On the other hand, Secretary General of the campaign Sheikha Intisar Al-Sabah explained this initiative stems from the patriotic spirit that the campaign participants imbued to embody true patriotism. She affirmed this patriotic spirit is not strange for the people of Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Director of the Administration and Control of Roads in Jahra Municipality Fahd Al-Quraifa stated that the campaign embodies the national duty of everyone. He said no one should wait for a directive before taking any action in the interest of his country wherever the person is – whether in the Municipality, other ministries and national institutions.
He noted that implementation of directives received from Director General of the Municipality Eng Ahmed Al-Manfuhi, like the work undertaken by Jahra Municipality, falls within the national duty.
General Coordinator of the campaign Nasser Al-Muhalhal stated that the presence of volunteer teams such as Istiqlal 61, Humanitarian Leader Team, Human Intentions Team, Sabah Al-Fakhr Team, Prevention Goal Team, Yes I Can Team, Dr Adel Al-Mishaal, Jahra, Sa’ad Al-Abdullah and Qairawan Municipality; along with the securitymen, is a manifestation of their eagerness, interest and support for all forms of volunteerism.
