Salaries of Kuwaitis in ‘private’ guaranteed

PAM allocates inquiry numbers

-

KUWAIT CITY, March 30: Private sector employers are committed to their responsibilities in terms of providing salaries to their Kuwaiti employees in accordance with the regulations in force, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They said, “Any gap in this matter will be remedied and we will not leave any of them without a salary”.

Meanwhile, health sources said confronting the outbreak of coronavirus requires speedy issuance of a decision by the Council of Ministers to distribute and sell masks to citizens and expatriates.

They explained that some government service entities stipulated that visitors must wear masks to allow them entry. The same is requested by the banks. This is in addition to the current visible congestion witnessed in some cooperative societies before the partial curfew took effect. The congestion continues despite the decision of Minister of Social Affairs and State Minister for Economic Affairs Maryam Al-Aqeel to ensure citizens and expatriates enter gradually while the rest wait outside the entrance of the cooperative societies. Some cooperative societies happen to be crowded both inside and outside because many people are waiting outside to be allowed to enter.

The sources stressed the need to bring out the 8.6 million masks that are available with Ministry of Commerce and Industry, adding that Ministry of Health is expected to submit its views to the Council of Ministers.

Also, an education source said the finance sector in the Ministry of Education has started depositing the salaries of its employees in the banks, and this includes the payment of companies contracted by the ministry including the security company, reports Al-Anba daily.

In the meantime, the spokesperson for the Public Authority for Manpower, Director of Public Relations, Aseel Al-Mazyad, announced the authority has allocated three numbers on WhatsApp to receive inquiries related to supporting the national workforce: 24568597, 22051556 and 22051605, confirming the authority’s keenness to respond to all inquiries, and apologizing for any delay that may occur, reports Al-Anba daily.

The sources say, these numbers are in service around the clock and come as a precautionary measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
