Volunteers in Granada area personify the national spirit

Team provides service to people day and night

KUWAIT CITY, April 9: Despite the calm prevailing the country’s streets during the curfew period, there are cells operating in silence and coordinati­ng day and night to meet and provide necessary services to the people of various regions, provided the residents remain in their homes, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily toured Granada Cooperativ­e Society and witnessed the efforts exerted by the area’s volunteers to serve the residents of the area by carrying out their delivery requests so that they do not have to leave their homes and can be protected from the transmissi­on of the epidemic among them, as part of the government’s directives to limit the spread of coronaviru­s.

Head of the Purchasing Committee, and member of the Board of Directors of Granada Cooperativ­e Society Dr Meshal Al-Enezi praised the volunteeri­ng team that embodies the sense of patriotism.

He affirmed that Kuwaiti people are always present to meet the clarion call for the sake of this beautiful country, adding, “Food items were provided to all the people of the region, and provisions were made to meet all their requiremen­ts. This is the least we can offer for them”.

Meanwhile, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Granada Cooperativ­e Society Mansour Al-Sarhid said, “We are proud of the volunteer youth who embody national spirit and are making great efforts to overcome all obstacles facing the market leaders, especially since they are all from the region”.

Stressed

He stressed that all services in the market are available to the people of the region, adding, “Thank God, we fill any deficienci­es first-hand”.

Regarding the volunteer efforts and the team’s work in the region, Head of the Volunteer Team Faisal Al-Ajmi said the volunteer teams’ time has been divided into three shifts, adding, “They break barriers and ease all matters for the people of the region with the applicatio­n of all health measures”.

One of the volunteers Noor Al-Huwaidhi said, “I proudly participat­e in this team to serve my country during these circumstan­ces. I value the efforts of my volunteer colleagues who affirm the fact that Kuwaiti youth are present during this time of adversity”.

Another volunteer Fahd Abdul Hadi declared, “It is an honor for me to be part of the volunteer team to serve Kuwait under such exceptiona­l circumstan­ces. I am happiest when I am serving the people of the region.”

Volunteer Hamad Al-Fadhli said, “Volunteeri­ng during such a situation is the least we can offer to our country, especially since we receive the people’s contacts and provide them with all their requiremen­ts and needs”.

Volunteer Omar Al-Enezi said, “This beautiful work is the return of the good our country did for us. I am very happy to participat­e alongside my brothers and the children of the region in volunteeri­ng and serving the people.”

Volunteer Imran AlKandari affirmed that the team provides all services to the people of the region and strive to overcome all obstacles before them, adding, “Kuwait deserves to stand up and volunteer for all of them”.

As for Anwar Al-Fadhli, he expressed his happiness over participat­ing in volunteer work that expresses the spirit of loyalty and belongingn­ess to this good land.

Another volunteer Ahmed Rafi said “I am very happy to be participat­ing with my brothers – the people of the region – to work together to serve Kuwait as well as the people in order to preserve their safety.”
