Director General of the General Administra­tion of Customs Jamal Al-Jalawi continued the field inspection tours in borders, centers and customs department­s to monitor implementa­tion of directives from the Council of Ministers in a bid to ensure smooth flow of activities related to the entry of commoditie­s, food and medical items into the country. He affirmed these activities are in line with the rules and regulation­s on curbing the spread of novel coronaviru­s.

Al-Jalawi inspected Fordah Vegetable and Fruit Market where he met Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalid Al-Roudhan coincident­ally as both of them were on a mission to inspect the market. They affirmed that all types of essential farm produce are available in abundance.

He also observed customs activities in the market and efforts to facilitate flow of various types of goods and commoditie­s.

He conveyed goodwill messages to customs men and officers from Minister of Finance Barrak Al-Shitan and appreciati­on from higher political authoritie­s, commending their efforts to ensure that everything goes on smoothly to maintain food security round the clock.

He also appreciate­d the visit of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah to the administra­tion, adding it is a motivation for all customs men and officers to double their efforts.
