Work of volunteers commendable

-

For two continuous months, the volunteers have been working tirelessly on the frontlines, battling to prevent the spread of the coro- navirus virtually racing against time on the one hand and extending a helping hand to government agencies – health, security and military – on the other, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

This is in addition to offering assistance to civil and charity organizations which are working 24/7 to deliver financial and food assistance to needy families and workers affected by the crisis.

Even though some of the volun- teers themselves have been infected with the deadly virus, this did not prevent others from dedi- cating their time in the service of humanity. The securitymen, medical and nursing cadres and volunteers in the field gives hope that “victory is near and the relief is coming, God willing.

Earlier, an official source in the General Administration of Civil Defense told Al-Rai daily that that the number of volunteers is 988 including 717 Kuwaitis, 175 bedoun and 96 expatriates, who are distributed over 32 sites, including health quarantines, schools shelters, exhibition grounds, and the airport in addition to the prohibited areas, reports Al-Rai daily.

The source denied that the administration had expelled any bedoun volunteer, stressing that what is being circulated about the expulsion of a group of volunteers – bedoun doctors and nurses from schools is totally false.
