Subsidies hike for breeders to be decided

-

KUWAIT CITY, April 23: Increasing the subsidies for breeders and dairy producers will be decided before the beginning of Ramadan, reports Al-Anba daily quoting an official source from the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR).

In a special statement to the daily, the source confirmed that the government is currently setting up a mechanism for the delivery of subsidies to beneficiaries in the event that a total lockdown is imposed through the coordinated efforts of the Mills Company, PAAAFR and a specialized company.

The source pointed out the increase in subsidies will raise the morale of beneficiaries and motivate them to concentrate on production in light of the global economic crisis due to the spread of COVID-19.

The source reassured all farmers and producers that the fodder stock is sufficient for more than a year, as manifested in the one-time distribution of subsidies for two months.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Yarmouk Cooperative Society Saad Al-Sanea confirmed that all plans to impose regional or total curfew are ready for implementation, indicating the cooperative has a large number of volunteers – about 100 – on standby for any decision or emergency in the service of Kuwait and to ensure the safety of the people, reports Al-Anba daily.

In a special statement to the daily, AlSanea affirmed the volunteers are very cooperative as reflected in their consistent attendance and dedication in implementing instructions. These volunteers are exerting tremendous efforts and shoulder a lot of burdens in order to provide services to residents in the area. They work diligently, follow up the application of precautionary measures, assist shoppers, ensure the safety of everyone, wear masks and gloves, place sterilizers and deliver to homes, he added.
