Man commits suicide after testing COVID-19 positive
KUWAIT CITY, May 3: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have arrested the alleged murderer within 48 hours after the crime was discovered, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to security sources the suspect was arrested after police checked the CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the crime scene.
Police discovered that an Arab man was involved in the murder and after getting a warrant from the Public Prosecution the suspect was taken into custody.
During interrogation the suspect is said to have admitted to committing the crime. He said the weapon he used in the murder was purchased from a local market.
He also said he threw the victim’s clothes in the garbage and the knife with which he killed the man, he threw it in the sea.
Earlier it was reported that police were looking for an unidentified person for killing a man in Dasman.
The Public Prosecution has charged the man with premeditated murder.
Virus-hit kills himself:
A Filipino ended his life in the Amiri Hospital after tests proved he was infected with the Coronavirus, reports Al-Rai daily.
A security source told the daily the Filipino suddenly disappeared from the hospital and after the hospital staff began looking for him he was found dead in one of the hospital’s toilet rooms. He had allegedly hanged himself with an electric wire.
MoI denies video clip:
The Ministry of Interior has denied what has been posted in the social media – the video clip showing shooting in the air by security authorities while in the process of arresting a reckless motorist, reports Al-Rai daily.
The incident allegedly happened in the Ahmadi Governorate. The Ministry stated the old video clip dates back to 2018.
The ministry has called on everyone to ensure the authenticity of what they publish to avoid punishment.
‘Guard’ attacked:
A motorist caused injury to the hand of an officer of National Guard when the latter ordered him to pull over for checking at a security checkpoint in Jahra area, says Al-Seyassah.
In a press release, the National Guard affirmed that necessary legal action has been taken against the motorist.
Director of Moral Guidance in the National Guard denied rumors circulating on social media that an officer of the National Guard intentionally knocked down another officer while he was on duty.
Tyres damaged by dogs:
In a very strange incident, a Kuwaiti has taken back his complaint which he had filed against somebody who had damaged the tires of his car after he realized the tires were damaged by stray dogs, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Kuwaiti was shocked when he saw the tires of his car damaged and after he filed a complaint he decided to see the CCTV footage of the camera installed in his house and saw the ‘dogs at work’.
‘Abnormal’ hits cars:
Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti for deliberately colliding with two cars in Hawalli, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a security source, at the time of arrest the man was abnormal.
One of the vehicles hit by the man was driven by a Kuwaiti woman and another parked car.
Famous man assaulted:
Police are looking for two unidentified persons for assaulting a well-known social media personality Abdullah Al-Jasser, a.k.a. ‘Abboudka’, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a complaint filed by the victim, he was attacked by the duo after forcing him to pull over while driving along a road.
The men allegedly beat him with a sharp object and injured him in the eye. The victim has provided police with the car plate number of the suspects.
The victim allegedly drove to the Adan Hospital to receive treatment.
2 kilos ‘chemical’ seized:
The airport customs inspectors have thwarted the attempt of an unidentified person to smuggle into the country about 2 kilos of ‘chemical’, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily said one of the inspectors suspected a package which came from China and was subjected to thorough advanced devices to ensure it does not contain prohibited substances.
The issue has been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control (GDDC) for investigation and arrest the person who ordered the shipment.
