‘Social Affairs keen to protect the inmates from coronavirus’
Housing prepared for all workers
KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs for the Social Welfare Sector, Musallam Al-Subaie, affirmed the ministry is keen to protect the inmates from being infected with the new coronavirus, reports Al-Rai daily.
He issued the statement after one of the service supervisors was found infected with the virus. He added, following this discovery all precautionary measures were taken to replace all workers and examine all employees and inmates.
Speaking of the precautionary measures adopted by the ministry to prevent the virus, Al-Subaie told Al-Rai that, within the plan of the social welfare sector, a housing for all workers has been prepared at the Al-Dur complex, to ensure that they do not come in contact with anyone who is infected with the virus in order to preserve the safety of employees and inmates.
He added, on April 24 a comprehensive examination of 300 workers from companies which have a contract with the Ministry of Social Affairs was completed.

He added, with the exception of the supervisor of the inmate service workers at the Farah Center of the Elderly Care Department no other cases were detected.
However, he said the rest of the analyzes will be completed by the Jaber Hospital and that the infected person has been isolate at the company’s private housing.
Referring to the ministry’s precautions to ensure the safety of the inmates and the workers, he said a meeting took place with the preventive health and several precautionary measures were taken, starting with the exclusion of the workers who came in contact with the service supervisor and sent them to the Jaber Hospital for further checks.
