KUWAIT CITY, May 5, (KUNA): The Cabinet has assigned Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Dr Rana Al-Fares to take necessary procedures for delaying payment of installments due for Kuwait Credit Bank.

Indebted citizens to the Credit Bank, if they desire so, can delay paying due installments for six months as of date of issuing this decision, said the government spokesperson Tareq Al-Mizrem.

There must be no “additions” to the installments for the postponement, he added.

Al-Mizrem was speaking after an extraordinary session of the Cabinet, held at Seif Palace, under chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister

Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

He added that the Cabinet decided to assign Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiary companies to prepare housing units for the medical and technical personnel serving at the field hospital at the fair ground, where people infected with coronavirus receive medical treatment.

Moreover, the ministers approved a bill to postpone payment of due installments for clients of the defaulters and family support funds, tasking the minister of finance to work out mechanism of implementing the decision.

Al-Mizrem said in the statement following the session that Deputy Prime Minister and

Minister of Interior Anas Al-Saleh briefed the ministers about riots that happened in the district of Kabad noting that security forces had taken decisive measures to prevent recurrence of such rejected conducts.

“What happened in Kabad is rejected and the security forces have enforced security,” he said.

Al-Mizrem has affirmed that the government is holding contacts with friendly and sisterly countries of expatriates who breached the residency regulations to organize their evacuation.

His Highness the prime minister expressed deep gratitude to the security personnel for their extraordinary efforts during the coronavirus crisis and for enforcing security throughout Kuwait.
