KUWAIT CITY, May 7: Deputy Chairman of the Consumer Cooperative Societies Union Khaled Al-Hudaiban has affirmed that the cooperative societies stand together in combating coronavirus, stressing all the necessary measures have been taken in cooperatives where corona cases were uncovered, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a press statement, he revealed the cooperative societies with corona cases are closed until completion of the sterilization process. He asserted no cooperative society has been closed until further notice, indicating there is strong coordination among cooperatives. He disclosed the cooperatives near those closed due to the discovery of corona cases cater to the needs of the residents in the areas with coronavirus cases.
He urged citizens and residents to refrain from going to cooperatives, unless it is extremely necessary, as a precautionary measure. He called on everyone to strictly comply with the regulations to wear masks, gloves and take preventive measures.
On the other hand, Al-Adailiya Cooperative Society announced that one of its administrative employees tested positive for corona; and that the Ministry of Health immediately conducted contact tracing and all preventive measures have been taken. This employee is now undergoing treatment and his condition is stable, the cooperative added.
The cooperative said the central market and public administration were closed for sterilization, while the delivery service was suspended for two days in line with the precautionary measures specified by the Health Ministry to guarantee the safety of everyone.
Jahra campaign soon:
Deputy Head of Judicial Arrest Team in Ministry of Electricity and Water Ahmad Al-Shammari revealed that an extensive campaign will be launched in Jahra area soon in coordination with Jahra Municipality to remove all encroachments near transformer stations, says Al-Seyassah daily .
He said several complaints were received about construction of structures close to these stations in private residential areas, and some of these structures were used to store scrap materials.
Affirming that the team will strictly deal with these encroachments, Al-Shammari explained that the team dealt with six such complaints last month and removed the encroachments with the cooperation of Kuwait Municipality.
Four shops shut:
A campaign conducted by Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality resulted in the closing of four shops and issuance of warnings to 15 shops, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality explained that the Shift B team of Department for Inspection and Follow-up of Municipal Services in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality conducted an inspection of 76 shops in Qurain Markets area and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Cooperative Society.
Director of the department affirmed that four shops that were in violation of the relevant rules and regulations were closed and warnings in this regard were issued to 15 others.
