Road repairs and maintenance completed in 13 locations within 1 week in all governorates
About 155,556 square meters of total asphalt used
KUWAIT CITY, May 14: Ministry of Public Works completed road repair and maintenance works in 13 locations in all six governorates during the period from May 2 to May 8. The total asphalt used during that period covered about 155,556 square meters, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources from the ministry.
They explained that the road repair and maintenance works were carried out on the inner roads in the residential areas within the ministry’s plan to repair and maintain internal roads in parallel with the contracts signed with the Public Authority for Roads & Transportation (PART).
The ministry, represented by the Maintenance Engineering Sector, and PART are racing against time to complete the maintenance and repair of all highways and internal roads based on the keenness to benefit from the total lockdown.
The sources also highlighted the keenness of the ministry to meet all technical requirements at all stages of road maintenance and repair work. This includes the use of the improved mixture and its specifications and standards approved by the ministry. The ministry is committed to these specifications and standards through the contractors who are under the supervision of specialized teams from the ministry and other neutral bodies, as well as those involved in supervising contracts to apply all health precautionary measures in a bid to protect the manpower on the ground from contracting COVID-19.
It is worth mentioning that the 13 locations where the concerned authorities have been working on in terms of road repairs and maintenance are - the northern border, Abdali Point, and multiple locations in Kuwait City, Saad Al-Abdullah, Sabah Al-Salem, Sulaibikhat, Sabah Al-Nasser, Rumaithiya, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Jaber Al-Ali and AlSabahiya areas.
