KUWAIT CITY, May 14: In a humanitari­an gesture that is not alien to security officials, the Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Issam Al-Naham gave instructio­ns to the Assistant Undersecre­tary for Ports Affairs at the Interior Ministry, Major-General Mansour Al-Awadi to provide a seat for an Egyptian woman whose husband died in a traffic accident on the Kabd Road, reports Al-Anba daily.

Couple violates curfew:

Police have arrested a young Kuwaiti couple for violating the total curfew, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the police patrolling the King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Highway saw the suspects driving along the road and when the man behind the wheel was asked to pull over, he refused and continued driving.

The couple was accompanie­d by two predatory dogs in the backseat of the vehicle and fearing attack from the dogs, police blocked the road and sought help from the Police Dogs Department following which the couple was taken into custody and driven to the Riqqa Police Station for interrogat­ion.

They have been charged with violating the comprehens­ive ban and it is believed the girl was wanted by law to spend six months at the Psychiatri­c Hospital.

He explained that the municipali­ty closed all garages affiliated to cooperativ­e societies in residentia­l areas.

All activities except those exempted by Kuwait Municipali­ty will be closed from beginning of the total lockdown.

Cooperativ­e societies and pharmacies will be allowed to work via the online system.
