90 citizens appointed in medical posts since March 12
Ministry calls on muezzins to raise Eid Takbeerat in mosques during Eid
KUWAIT CITY, May 21: A recent statistic issued by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) revealed that it completed the appointment of 90 citizens in medical, allied health and nursing jobs in Ministry of Health during the period from March 12 to May 19, reports Al-Rai daily.
The statistic showed that the appointment citizens include 28 physicians and dentists, five prosthetic experts, nine pharmacists, 33 medical laboratory specialists, five nurses, eight nutrition specialists and two health information specialists.
According to sources, despite the disruption of work in CSC due to the COVID-19 crisis, the appointments continued for medical-related jobs, provided the applicants obtained equivalency of the degrees in case they graduated from universities outside the country, due to the need for people with medical specializations in Ministry of Health to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs called on muezzins to raise the Eid Takbeerat in mosques in the morning of the blessed Eid AlFitr using internal and external loudspeakers, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a press statement, the ministry affirmed this is in line with the circular on stopping the Friday sermon and congregational prayer in mosques; as well as the edict (fatwa) issued by the Fatwa Committee regarding the inability to hold Eid Al-Fitr prayers inside the mosques, performing Eid prayer at home, how to perform this prayer and performing the ‘takbeer’ ritual mentioned in the Sunnah.
The ministry added Eid Takbeerat should start at sunrise by a quarter of an hour and continue until the time of Eid prayer after sunrise by a quarter of an hour. The ministry also reiterated the instructions issued to mosques not to deliver sermons and conduct Eid prayers, while stressing the need to adhere to the directive on closing mosques.
