KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The Ministry of Electricity and Water says the ministry did not receive any power outage complaints during the month of Ramadan with the exception of some simple interruptions that were quickly rectified, reports Al-Rai daily.

However, the ministry said during the first challenge for the current summer season the power consumption did not exceed 10,000-MW mark.

While the ministry succeeded in its first challenge, well-informed sources say power consumption will gradually increase as the country gradually limps back to normalcy which is expected to be early next month, coinciding with the high temperature that will range between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius.

The sources said, “even after the resumption of the work early next month, as expected, but the consumption will be less compared to the previous years, specifically during this period and said the reason for the slow increase in power load was because of the closure of the schools because of the outbreak of the virus since the schools consumed more than 1000 MW and also the shutting down of the mosques which consumed much power during prayer times.
