In a press release, KFB affirmed that this project is one of the most important seasonal projects that Kuwait Food Bank and its committees are seeking to implement in Kuwait in response to the wishes of the donors, stressing the food bank’s keenness to help the needy families and individuals as well as widows.

It revealed that the value of a sacrifice donation via the Food Bank website ranges from KD 5 to KD 200, adding that the price of a sacrifice is KD 100, and the sacrifice receipt can be issued to those who wish.

Vice-Chairman of the Kuwait Food Bank Meshaal Al-Ansari said, “The sacrifice project this year comes at a time when the world is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic that has caused an increase in the unemployment rate, which in turn resulted in doubling of the number of beneficiaries from the poor families, workers without jobs, the poor, orphans, widows and those with limited income. This necessitates us to redouble our efforts during this seasonal project in order to bring delight to these simple people in these blessed days”.

He affirmed that the Food Bank is working on distributing sacrifices in all six governorates of Kuwait through volunteer teams that have a large base of beneficiaries in various parts of the country from Jahra to Wafra.

Al-Ansari stressed that, “This project revives the year of our father Ibrahim, promotes social solidarity, introduces pleasure and space to the beneficiaries, and puts a smile on the lips of the deprived”.

He affirmed the keenness of the Food Bank to choose sacrifices that conform to Islamic law, ensuring they are free from defects and suitable for human consumption, adding that, “KFB also works on documenting sacrifices, which we consider as discharge of responsibility, and preparing it according to a clear vision to provide assistance to those in greatest need”.
