MoSA grants annual financial support to 45 out of 143 NGOs

-

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by its NonGovernmental Organizations (NGOs) Administration, grants more than KD 1 million subsidies to 45 well-known NGOs annually in accordance with the regulations, reports Al-Jaida daily quoting informed sources.

Sources confirmed the ministry is ready to disburse the subsidies for this year, but decided to postpone it until the fifth phase of the gradual return to normal life. Sources explained this is in line with the decision to postpone general assemblies until the Cabinet announces the start of the fifth and final phase of the gradual return to normal life. Sources said the total number of NGOs reached 143, but the ministry grants annual financial support to only 45 of these organizations.

Sources disclosed the subsidy for each of the 45 organizations ranges from KD 12,000 to KD 180,000, indicating this amount is spent on organizations involved in activities that have a positive impact on society, especially since there is disparity between the work of these organizations and the number of members of their general assemblies.

Sources affirmed the concerned administration has completed the statements of subsidies, in which the amount of financial support for each organization is specified. Sources reiterated that the disbursement of subsidies has been suspended until the general assemblies are held and the projected budget for each organization is approved separately.
