Libellous clip Fashionist­a held

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The Public Prosecutio­n has decided to detain fashionist­a Jamal Al-Najada for another one day to conclude investigat­ion into an allegation leveled against her of insulting members of the Public Prosecutio­n in a recorded voice clip.

The Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal Investigat­ion Department seized the fashionist­a Jamal Al-Najada and referred her to the prosecutio­n.

A warrant for her arrest was issued following a report issued by the Cybercrime Unit and the Deputy Attorney General. The order came against the background of the spread of an audio recording attributed to her that contained serious abuse to the Public Prosecutio­n Office, after it investigat­ed the suspicions referred to it by the Financial Investigat­ion Unit over the inflation of bank accounts and suspicion of money laundering.

She allegedly committed the offence after she was interrogat­ed over the money laundering allegation, which she denied and was released on KD 20,000 bail.

Immoral clip:

Personnel from the Cybercrime Department have arrested an unidentifi­ed young woman for posting a video clip on her ‘Snapchat’ and ‘Twitter’ accounts, deemed immoral, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, after identifyin­g the suspect, the security authoritie­s have initiated legal procedures against her.

A statement issued by the security authoritie­s call on all citizens and expatriate­s to adhere to the laws of the land and stay away from vulgarity to protect the morals of the society.
