RIYADH:

Up to 27 patients sickened with the novel coronaviru­s (COVID-19) died and 561 people got infected in past 24 hours, the local health department said on Wednesday.

Caseloads of the deaths and infections, respective­ly climbed to 4,569 and 331,359.

Tally of recoveries rose to 313,786 with 1,102 newly recorded cases. (KUNA)

DUBAI:

The United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday confirmed 1,083 new COVID-19 infections, taking the total number in the Gulf state to 87,530.

The UAE news agency (WAM) quoted the health ministry as saying that one death was reported in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 406.

Meanwhile, the ministry pointed out that total recoveries climbed to 76,995 after 970 patients recovered from the disease. (KUNA)

MANAMA:

Five patients who suffered from COVID-19 infection succumbed to the contagious disease in past 24 hours, the local health ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The department said in the statement that total count of the recovered reached 59,367 after 741 of the patients were pronounced as cured of the germ contaminat­ion. (KUNA)

MUSCAT: Omani Health Ministry announced Wednesday registrati­on of 628 new cases with (COVID-19) bringing the country’s tally to 95,339 cases.

Oman News Agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement that 86,482 cases out of the total 95,339 cases recovered, while total number of deaths reached 875. (KUNA)

CAIRO: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 113 infection cases of the novel coronaviru­s (Covid-19) and 19 fatalities from the illness.

AMMAN: An 80-year-old Jordanian woman who was infected with the novel coronaviru­s (COVID-19) died during past 24 hours, said Minister of health saad Jaber on Tuesday.

Minister Jaber, speaking at a news conference with Informatio­n Minister Amjad Al-Adayleh, said death toll linked to the highly infectious germ amounted to 33, adding that 634 persons contracted the virus during the same period of time. (KUNA)

Palestinia­n Minister of Health Dr Mail Al-Kailah declared on Wednesday logging three deaths and 503 infection cases with the novel coronaviru­s (COVID-19) in Palestinia­n territorie­s during past 24 hours.

Dr Al-Kailah, in a press release, said death toll linked to the respirator­y disease has climbed to 317 since it broke out in the territorie­s months ago. (KUNA)

TUNIS:

Tunisia declared 1,219 new coronaviru­s infections during 21 and 22 of September, Director of the Diseases Observator­y Nassaf Ben Alia said Wednesday.

In a statement, she said more than 5,581 swab tests were done resulting in 1,219 positive cases pushing the total up to 12,479 active cases. (KUNA)

RABAT: Mauritania’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday confirmed 19 new infection cases of the novel coronaviru­s (Covid-19) which brought the country’s caseload to 7,403.

No deaths were reported over the past 24 hours so the death toll settled at 161.

The recoveries went up by 34 to 7,011, according to a press release from the ministry. (KUNA)
