Zero rev­enues from wed­ding halls for MoSA

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: The Min­istry of So­cial Af­fairs suf­fers from lack of an­nual rev­enues that it col­lects for the State trea­sury, es­pe­cially since it is the largest gov­ern­ment agency pro­vid­ing ser­vices and fi­nan­cial aid to a large seg­ment of so­ci­ety, re­ports Al-Jarida daily quot­ing sources.

Wed­ding halls are among the most vi­ral source of rev­enues, but the min­istry in­curred huge losses due to the ex­cep­tional cir­cum­stances the coun­try is go­ing through in view of the corona pan­demic and the pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sures taken to curb the spread of the virus like the pro­hi­bi­tion of gath­er­ings and clo­sure of wed­ding and event halls un­til fur­ther no­tice, sources re­vealed.

Sources re­vealed the wed­ding halls had zero rev­enues in the last fis­cal year – 2019/2020; es­pe­cially af­ter the can­cel­la­tion of hun­dreds of reser­va­tions, re­fund of pay­ments for these reser­va­tions and pro­vi­sion of in­sur­ance to the own­ers.
