NCCAL offering cultural cooperation with US to support national energies
Kuwaiti women’s role wins praise
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26, (KUNA): Secretary General of Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Kamel Al-Abduljalil stated recently that several ideas will be implemented as a future cooperation program between Kuwait and US.
Al-Abduljalil pointed out in a press release that he met recently US Ambassador to Kuwait Alina Romanowski and discussed mutual cultural and artistic cooperation especially in the film industry besides benefiting from US experiences in this field.
He also indicated this cooperation would create opportunities for Kuwaitis in order to develop their expertise in various fields such as film directing, editing, and related skills. Additionally, it supports what NCCAL has achieved in the Kuwaiti film festival.
Al-Abduljalil confirmed that his meeting with Ambassador Romanowski touched upon hosting renowned musical bands, cooperation on painting and sculpting through dealing with artists from several art schools.
Ambassador Romanowski expressed her gratitude to Kuwait National Assembly for approving a law on copyright and related rights to protect creativity and innovators, Al-Abduljalil added.
Kuwait’s Ambassador in Berlin Najeeb Al-Bader participated in the 13th Arab-German Health Forum and got acquainted with ongoing efforts to curb the coronavirus pandemic.
Al-Bader, speaking to KUNA recently, said the Health Forum, held in the North Rhine-Westphalia State, Western Germany, enabled him to take firsthand account of Deutschland’s attempts to confront Covid-19 with the objective of eliminating the virus.
He said he exchanged views with experts attending the forum about efforts by some Arab countries to fight the virus, which infected over 20 million people worldwide and killed hundreds of thousands others.
The forum featured many sessions about impacts and challenges posed by the pandemic on health systems, said Al-Bader.
The sessions, he added, also included transfer of health expertise and technologies, building of smart hospitals, boosting Arab-German pharmaceutical cooperation and establishing health partnership between public and private sectors.
Armin Laschet, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia State, addressed the forum and called for promoting cooperation between the Arab countries and the German state in health and education.
Arab Ambassadors to Germany met with Laschet and discussed bilateral relations and cooperation.
Speaker of Spain’s House of Representatives Maritxell Batet praised Kuwaiti women’s leading role in politics and taking leadership positions.
Batet made the remarks during a meeting with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Spain Ayadah Alsaidi at the parliament to discuss boosting bilateral ties between two nations, Kuwait Embassy in Madrid said in a statement recently.
She praised appointment of Kuwaiti women as judges, which was highly recognized at the government and parliamentary levels in Spain.
Batet called on importance of exchanging political and parliamentary expertise between both nations.
Batet said she would urge the Spanish government to support Kuwait’s quest to waive European Union’s (EU) Shcengen visa requirements on Kuwaiti citizens.
The 26 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The Kuwaiti diplomat highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in boosting bilateral ties.
Batet expressed her deepest wish for a fast recovery for His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah, and further progress, prosperity, stability, and security for Kuwait and its people, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir.
