MoH’s 540 containers being cleared with care

Director-General of the General Administra­tion of Customs, Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, said the current situation needs solidarity from all vital institutio­ns in the state, while at the same time praising the precaution­ary measures taken by the State of Kuwait to protect the citizens and expatriate­s, reports Al-Anba daily.

He added one of the’ priorities of the General Customs Department is to facilitate the entry of medical and relief materials imported by the Ministry of Health, as well by some agencies operating in the country, pointing out there are 540 containers belonging to the Ministry of Health at the Shuaiba Port, consisting of medical supplies, masks, protective clothing and other things, which are being cleared with great care and as soon as possible.

He affirmed the interest and keenness of the customs administra­tion to facilitate the clearance of medical shipments as they are important to the Ministry of Health, especially after the Council of Ministers Decision No. 396 was issued to facilitate such shipments in accordance with legal procedures, in cooperatio­n with the Kuwait Ports Authority and, the General Administra­tion of Customs and the Ministry of Health.

The Director General indicated the customs employees work with an increased while at the same time maintainin­g the highest standards of protection and checking all incoming goods in addition to adherence to all health controls and precaution­s that have been issued through circulars and instructio­ns by the concerned authoritie­s.
