Kuwait’s Karam wins 2nd position at Doha Diamond League

DOHA, Sept 26, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Yosef Karam won the second place in the 400m race in 45.72 in the final round of the 2020 Doha Diamond League.

US Kahmari Montgomery came first in 45.55, while Qatari Nasser Abbas came third in 45.96 in the same championsh­ip that witnessed a wide participat­ion of many male and female athletes all over the world.

During a telephone call with KUNA, president of Kuwait Athletics Associatio­n Sayar Al-Enzi expressed pride for this achievemen­t which will be an additional one to the federation.

He lauded Karam’s big efforts made in preparatio­n for the tournament, despite the novel coronaviru­s and the health preventive measures taken in Kuwait that prevented from conducting continued training.

He also extolled efforts by Minister of Informatio­n and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad AlJabri, Director General of the Public Authority for Sport (PAS) Hamoud Felaiteh and his deputy Saqar AlMulla.

Meanwhile, Karam expressed his happiness for winning the second position in this global championsh­ip.

He said that partaking in this event fully supported him in the future participat­ions, hoping for getting better results in the next tournament­s.

He said he dedicated this achievemen­t to the political leadership in the State of Kuwait, the KAA, the PAS and the Kuwait Olympic Committee. The League includes 117 profession­al male and female athletes all over the world that are competing in 12 contests.
