HH Amir receives condolences from Central African Republic president

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Monday a cable of condolences from President of the Central African Republic FaustinArchange Touadera, over the death of late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah.

In the cable, President Touadera expressed condolences to His Highness the Amir and to the people of Kuwait, commending the generous qualities of the late Amir.

In reply, His Highness the Amir thanked the president for the heartfelt sentiments, wishing him well.

U.S.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah received recently a phone call from US State Secretary Mike Pompeo, who conveyed his personal condolences on the death of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Sheikh Dr Ahmad thanked Secretary Pompeo for his condolences and the US, for facilitating the treatment for the late Amir, which he said, reflects the strength of bilateral relations.

He also praised President Donald Trump’s initiative to grant the late Amir the Legion of Merit, Degree Chief Commander award.

Reaffirming the deep bond between the two countries, he added this was evident through the US stance to ensure Kuwait’s security, stability and legitimacy during the war to liberate Kuwait from Iraq’s invasion in 1991.

Both officials also discussed developments on the regional and international spectrums along with issues of mutual concern.

Nepal

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on received a letter from Nepalese President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, voicing her heartfelt condolences over the passing away of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In the letter, the Nepalese president remembered His Highness the late Amir’s great contributions to promoting regional peace and stability, wishing His Highness the Amir and Kuwaiti people more patience.

In reply, His Highness the Amir sent the president of Nepal a letter thanking and appreciating her sincere commiserations, wishing her everlasting health.

Sri Lanka

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Sunday received a cable of condolences from Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa over the sad passing away of late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah.
