Three Egyptians handed over to Interpol

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12 : The Directorat­e-General of Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry said the security authoritie­s continue to keep in check all violators of the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers and preventive measures put in place by the health authoritie­s to keep in check the spread of COVID-19, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the preventive measures include wearing face masks in public and private places, social distancing and ban on gatherings.

The ministry clarified in a statement all violators of Cabinet decisions were immediatel­y dealt with to prevent gatherings inside the country and that the law has been applied on everyone without discrimina­tion.

The ministry said the security men on several occasions have dispersed people gathering in one place in violation of the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers and instructio­ns of the health authoritie­s. Some of those organizing gatherings were summoned and referred to the concerned authoritie­s.

The Ministry has called upon citizens and residents to fully adhere to the laws, instructio­ns and procedures in the interest of everyone’s safety.

In addition, a security source said the Assistant Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Interior for Public Security Affairs, Major-General Faraj Al-Zoubi said violators of the Council of Ministers decision were summoned for interrogat­ion when clips were posted in the social media showing a wedding reception in the Ahmadi Governorat­e, another wedding that was happening in Sabah Al-Ahmad, another citizen who had organized a party in his home.

Trio go to Interpol: The State Security Agency has recently handed over three Egyptians to the Egyptian Interpol. They were wanted by the Egyptian authoritie­s for allegedly inciting chaos and calling on people through social media to demonstrat­e, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to senior sources these defendants had launched an intense campaign to incite Egyptians to break the law and demonstrat­e against their government.

Following a request from the Egyptian authoritie­s, the men nabbed in the Farwaniya Governorat­e and following interrogat­ions they were handed over to the Egyptian authoritie­s.

The sources pointed there is a strong cooperatio­n between the Kuwaiti and Egyptian security authoritie­s based on the extraditio­n treaty signed by both sides.

Mentally ill escapes: Police are looking for an unidentifi­ed psychologi­cally disturbed person who is said to have escaped from the Psychiatri­c Hospital, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The daily added, the escapee was admitted to Ward No. 34 after he

was arrested by the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police for attempting to exit from Kuwait without stamping his passport.

The employees of the hospital said the suspect ran away from the hospital at about 5:00 pm and that the CCTV cameras failed to monitor his escape.

Sources close to the issue have told the daily, the health authoritie­s have launched an investigat­ion to find out how the patient hoodwinked everyone although the facility is monitored round the clock and the entry and exit to the hospital is under careful watch 24/7.

The same sources say there is a possibilit­y that one of the employees may have colluded with the escapee and helped him escape.

Woman drowns at sea: The remains of an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti woman who drowned off the Abu

Halifa beach have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, acting on informatio­n the Coast Guard dive team and personnel from the Emergency Medical Services affiliated to the Ministry of Health rushed to the spot and fished the corpse out of the water.

The daily added, the woman who is believed to be in her 30s, was allegedly swimming and raised an alarm for help.

It is not known if the victim was an amateur swimmer or she was pulled in by the undercurre­nt.

The daily added, she was identified with the help of her fingerprin­ts by personnel from the Forensics.

Kuwaiti swindled: The Jahra police are looking for an unidentifi­ed expatriate for cheating a Kuwaiti, reports Al-Rai daily.

In his complaint to the Jahra Police Station, the Kuwaiti said the suspect

lured him to join him in a business venture which was to be conducted ‘online’ to save money and effort.

However, after the Kuwaiti gave the expatriate 4,000 dinars, the latter did the disappeari­ng act. After the money was given for a few days he refused to answer call and finally put his cellphone off.

Maid attempts suicide: The Ardhiya police have detained an unidentifi­ed Sri Lankan maid for investigat­ion to know why she wanted to end her life, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily quoting security sources said when the maid threatened to hang herself to death, the sponsor informed the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior following which police and paramedics rushed to the spot and succeeded in convincing the maid to give up the idea of committing suicide. The daily did not give more details.
