Virus kills doctor: Dr Ahmed Abdel Hamid Zayed, an Egyptian nephrologi­st, died at Jahra Hospital recently due to coronaviru­s, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The late doctor, who worked in Kuwait for six years, is the third Egyptian doctor who succumbed to corona. He was infected with the virus two months ago and was confined in the intensive care unit about a month ago. He worked on the frontline of the fight against corona for three months before being infected.

The doctor was 37 years old and had three children – the youngest of whom is a four-month old baby.

❑ ❑ Nepali dies in mishap:

A Nepali died and four others were injured following a two-vehicle collision on King Fahd Motorway, opposite Hadiya district, reports Al-Anba daily.

One of the vehicles was driven by a Kuwaiti and the other by a Chadian.

On the other hand, an Egyptian born in 1967, who was run over by an Indian motorist, was taken to the Amiri Hospital. The victim is believed to be seriously injured.

The Indian has been detained at the Daiya Police Station until investigat­ions are completed.

❑ ❑ Kuwaiti assaulted:

A Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the Jahra Police Station accusing one of his relatives of barging into his Diwaniya and assaulting him, reports Al-Rai daily.

He told police the incident happened following an argument between them. He told the police the suspect has also threatened to cause him further harm.

The security sources said the suspect has been arrested and is being interrogat­ed.

A Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the Jahra police accusing two men of kidnapping him and taking him to a deserted area and assaulting him and attempting to take his pictures to blackmail him, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily, without giving more details said the case has been handed over to the

Public Prosecutio­n and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of the suspects.

❑ ❑ Young man beaten:

Police are looking for a Kuwaiti and three of his friends for ambushing a young man and assaulting him, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, suspects forced the victim to pull over when he was driving in the suburb of Jaber Al-Ahmed, forced him out of the car because of earlier dispute and assaulted him.

The victim has filed a complaint with the Jaber Al-Ahmad Police Station. He said the suspects not only assaulted him but also damaged his car.

They escaped after threatenin­g to punish him again if he files a complaint with the police.

❑ ❑ Woman says cheated:

An unidentifi­ed young woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing a bedoun of cheating her and stealing her 3,000 dinars, reports Al-Rai daily.

The woman told the police the bedoun boasted of connection­s with senior officials in the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) and promised to get her name registered in return for money.

He put a condition of paying the money in advance and allegedly after receiving the money he refused to answer calls and put off his phone.

Police are looking for the suspects.

❑ ❑ Garage thief held: ❑ ❑ ❑

The supervisor of the Municipali­ty garage in Mina Abdullah with the help of a guard has seized an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti who had managed to break into the garage with the intention to steal parts of vehicles, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The daily added, with the suspect, who was part of a three-member gang, had stolen some numbers plates of vehicles and dismantled some parts.

The arrested person has been handed over to the police. In the meantime police are looking for the two men who are at large.
