Abdel Fattah in anti-Covid fight

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: Former Assistant Undersecre­tary of the Public Security Sector Lieutenant General (Rtd.) Abdel Fattah AlAli, has joined the Committee for the Implementa­tion of Health Requiremen­ts to Fight Corona, the committee that has been set up by the Council of Ministers, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The sources say the committee is in the process of establishi­ng an independen­t center and provide it with its own operation room to receive all communicat­ions regarding health violations which are primarily responsibl­e for the spread of the virus during the second wave of the pandemic to help the concerned authoritie­s to deal with the complaints in a more quick manner with the possibilit­y of documentin­g these violations on mobile devices.

The source indicated that the committee will request the formation of teams from the Kuwait Municipali­ty and the Interior Ministry with powers for judicial seizure and monitor all places of gatherings, whether they are markets, complexes or others. The committee will also be granted security powers that allow it to deal with gatherings inside homes and offices.

The source pointed out that the committee comprising securityme­n and Municipali­ty employees will activate the law of monetary fines for those not complying with laws such as not wearing masks or respecting the social distancing laws.

The fines will range between 50 and 100 dinars and will have to be paid immediatel­y and the person will be referred to the competent authoritie­s just like in the case of serious traffic violations.
