Vaccinatio­n limited to citizens for now: MoH

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: The Ministry of Health has announced that the winter vaccinatio­n campaign for the year 2020/2021 is limited to citizens at present, taking into considerat­ion the current circumstan­ces the country is going through due to the coronaviru­s (Covid-19) pandemic, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In a press statement, the ministry affirmed that the preventive health centers designated to carry out seasonal vaccinatio­ns to be protected against the most common causes of viral respirator­y diseases - influenza and bacterial (pneumococc­al) - will serve only the citizens for now.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health on Friday issued a clarificat­ion regarding the timings of Fintas Health Center for serving citizens and expatriate­s, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry disclosed the center serves those residing in Fintas, Egaila and Mahboula - citizens in the morning and expatriate­s in the evening.

In other news, the increasing number of coronaviru­s infections among employees in the Ministry of Education has prompted the Informatio­n Systems Department to coordinate with the Ministry of Health regarding the establishm­ent of an electronic link for monitoring those returning from abroad who are obliged to quarantine for a period of 14 days, as well as those with infectious diseases; in a bid to track down those who violate the relevant regulation­s, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily obtained a copy of the letter that acting Ministry of Education Undersecre­tary Faisal Al-Maqsid sent to the Ministry of Health.
