The world community has acknowledged Kuwait’s humanitarian role and the honoring of HH the later Amir as the Humanitarian leader and Kuwait as the Humanitarian Center by the United Nations has not come from a vacuum.
This is a testimony of Kuwait’s distinguished contributions to the world under the leadership of His Highness the late Amir.
Upon directives of His Highness the late Amir, the Kuwaiti charity institutions through continuous support for humanitarian causes and projects, especially in Asia and Africa, rose to the occasion to put the name of Kuwait on the map of the world as the leader of charity and humanitarian work.
Nonetheless, Kuwait stands out among the countries of the world which are known for humanitarian work. In addition to its humanitarian and charity work, the State of Kuwait has hosted several donor conferences to offer a helping hand to countries affected by the manmade calamities – countries such as Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
His Highness the late Amir has left behind his legacy through sacrifice and generosity. In the words of the former United Nations Secretary- General Ban ki- moon, His Highness the late Amir, was a role model whose immense contribution to the world body in the face of human suffering caused by wars and disasters and natural calamities speaks volumes. Under the leadership of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al- Jaber Al- Sabah, despite the small size of his country, the heart proved bigger than the crises, poverty and epidemics.
Although His Highness the late Amir no longer lives amongst us, history will record Kuwait’s outstanding achievements under the leadership of the late Amir.
His endless donations, contributions and initiatives will remain a beacon and a testament of love of goodness, helping everyone, and solidarity in the most beautiful way.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad was a unique model of distinguished world leaders, with his humanitarian work that has benefited many afflicted countries and the peoples.
