Man involved in car thefts nabbed
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: The securitymen have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti, who is believed to be in his 20s, for pointing a gun at his father and threatening to shoot at him, reports Al-Seyassah .
This happened following a quarrel between them inside their house in Jaber Al-Ali.
When he learned that his father had called the police, he escaped from the house with the gun and hid inside a mosque in the area.
The securitymen then combed the area and found the suspect hiding in a mosque. At the time of arrest he was abnormal.
He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
Vehicle ‘thief’ held:
Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in coordination and cooperation with personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted fingerprints, which has provided rich information and helped close the files of many vehicle theft cases, reports Al-Anba daily.
A security source said there are speculations that the accused is the one who stole the vehicle of Indian in Waha, which was reported by Al-Anba last Thursday, as happened in the case of the theft of a vehicle of an elderly man inside a gas station, or cases of people entering grocery stores or pharmacies leaving their vehicles in running mode.
A security source told the daily the suspect who is in police custody has agreed to guide police to the locations from where he stole the vehicles and disposed them in different places.
According to a security source, the increase in cases of vehicle thefts whether by deception or coercion, prompted the detectives to intensify their efforts which resulted in the arrest of a Kuwaiti, who is in his 30s.
