‘Logistics and Supplies’ lifeblood of army, reason for success: minister

Army chief among top officials visit ‘Logistics Authority’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 21: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber affirmed that “the Logistics Authority is the lifeblood of any advanced army, and a reason for its success and developmen­t,” noting at the same time that “the Ministry of Defense is always looking forward to adapting to the latest developmen­ts in modern technology technical devices and equipment, which in turn contribute to supporting the authority’s efforts and raising its level of performanc­e, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

This came during the inspection visit of the Minister of Defense to the authority accompanie­d by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant-General Khaled Saleh Al-Sabah, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Fahad Al-Nasser, and a number of senior army commanders.

Minister Al-Jaber was received by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Supply at the Supply Authority Brigadier-General Khaled Al-Obeidi and a number of the senior officers at the authority, who expressed their gratitude and appreciati­on for this visit, which comes to confirm the keenness of the minister to ensure all is

well at the Supply Authority.

Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber listened to a detailed briefing about the nature of the tasks and duties carried out by the Supply Authority and the role entrusted to it in supporting the various army units.

The Minister of Defense also toured the units of the Supply Authority, where he was briefed on the progress of work and the procedures that have been followed. He also visited a number

of stores belonging to the authority and was informed of the materials and the size of the strategic stock and the mechanism of disburseme­nt and supply.

During the visit the minister conveyed the greetings and appreciati­on of HH the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Misha’al Al-Ahmad, and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled for the employees

of the Supply Authority.

He stressed that the responsibi­lities entrusted to the Supply Authority require everyone to exert more efforts and work to avoid obstacles that may hinder the progress of the developmen­t process, in addition to maintainin­g the process of permanent and continuous coordinati­on with the various official authoritie­s in the state to ensure the success of the various work programs and joint plans.
