120 experts in ‘health profile’ training course
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 21: The Healthy Cities Office of the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the WHO Regional Office, organized a training course to prepare a health profile for a healthy city.
The Head of Healthy Cities Office Dr Amal Al-Yahya said in a press statement that the session was held via Zoom technology in compliance with health requirements and the efforts of the Ministry of Health to contain the “COVID-19” epidemic, pointing out that it comes within the efforts of the Health Cities Office to build capacity to work on implementing health city standards in all the districts of Kuwait.
The sources indicated that the course lasted 3 days from January 17 to 19, targeting workers representing different sectors including doctors and members of coordination committees as a result of which 120 participants attended the 14 hours of training.
She pointed out that experts in from the World Health Organization who participated in giving the lectures were Dr. Samar El-Feki who is responsible for community initiatives in the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, and Dr. Nizar Abdul Rahim al-Faki, advisor for policies, health systems, human resources and planning, and the organization’s expert in the field of healthy cities, in addition to specialists from the sectors related to preparing the healthy city document, such as Dr Sana’a Al-Ali, responsible for the electronic health file for patients, and the representative of the National Center for Health Information, and the Dean of the College of Public Health at Kuwait University, and the Geographic Information Sector at the Public Authority for Civil Information.
