Call to build shelters for stray dogs

KUWAIT CITY, March 4: Municipal Council member Eng Abdul Salam AlRandi has called for the allocation of land to construct shelters for stray dogs, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Randi took this step after noticing the spread of stray dogs, which endanger citizens and cause anxiety due to fear of being attacked by the dogs; not to mention the repetition of accidents in some areas due to these dogs.

He is hoping for the establishm­ent of shelters for stray dogs in Abdally, Wafra and Kabad to control their population.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Municipali­ty has allocated WhatsApp 24727732 to receive complaints related to violations of health requiremen­ts, while the supervisor­y team of the Public Cleaning and Road Works Department in the Hawalli Governorat­e branch carried out field tours throughout the province from Feb 17, 2021 Feb 22, 2021 to raise the level of hygiene and clear all obstructio­ns that distort the general view of the governorat­e, by lifting abandoned cars and boats parked in public squares or government land and ensuring that the shops adhere to the general hygiene regulation and road occupancy conditions, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In this context, Director of the department Muhammad Al-Jaba’a, explained the aim of the intensive field tours is to monitor violators and take all legal measures against them, pointing out that the supervisor­y team in the Public Hygiene Department pays great attention to raising the level of hygiene in the areas which fall under its jurisdicti­on in addition to removing everything that distorts the aesthetic view of the governorat­e.
