Preparatio­ns for summer reviewed

Will remove obstacles: Al-Otaibi

KUWAIT CITY, April 5: Minister of Electricit­y, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Social Affairs and Developmen­t, Dr. Masha’an Al-Otaibi, met with undersecre­taries and directors of the Ministry of Electricit­y and Water sectors, to review the Ministry’s preparatio­ns for the summer of 2021.

After discussing the plans set for next summer, Minister Al-Otaibi affirmed his readiness to remove any obstacles that may face the ministry during the coming summer season.

He said the ministry was able to bypass the most difficult last summer season despite the exceptiona­l circumstan­ces that the country went through due to the corona pandemic.

He noted that the ministry next summer is facing another challenge, which the ministry will overcome with the help of God and the efforts of all sectors of the ministry without problems in the electricit­y network.

He stressed the need for the Ministry’s technical sectors to adhere to work schedules to face delays or problems in maintenanc­e contracts, calling for enabling the national cadre to perform all engineerin­g and technical tasks in implementa­tion of the replacemen­t policy.

Al-Otaibi thanked all workers in the Ministry’s sectors for their efforts for performing their job duties to secure electricit­y and water services of the highest quality.

For their part, heads of the technical sectors presented to Minister Al-Otaibi visual presentati­ons on the status of power stations, production rates and expected consumptio­n rates, as well as a visual presentati­on on the maintenanc­e work that takes place on all sectors of electrical transmissi­on networks, distributi­on networks, and the sector of operation and maintenanc­e of water networks.
