‘21,000 shots every day’

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: The government’s target is to increase registrati­on for Covid-19 vaccine and give the vaccine to 1.5 million citizens and residents out of 2.5 million people targeted before the last ten days of Ramadan, given the fact the vaccinatio­n is the only way to reduce infections with the coronaviru­s, reports Al-Anba daily.

The health sources said the reports are encouragin­g and that the 650,000 people from now until April 22, when the implementa­tion of partial curfew will be looked into correspond­ing to the 10th of Ramadan, the Ministry of Health will have completed vaccinatin­g one million people at the rate of vaccinatin­g 21,000 people every day.

The sources went on to say during the next ten days, you will have reached the vaccinatio­n of one and a half million out of the total number of targeted people, which is 2.5 million, and a higher number may have been achieved under the plan to administer the vaccine in clinics.

The sources added that, in normal circumstan­ces, the vaccinatio­n rate of 60% of the population will have been achieved, which is the initial percentage required to achieve community immunity and return to normal life, which will entail the abolition of the ban.

The Director of Graduate Affairs Department at the Deanship of Admission and Registrati­on at Kuwait University Fatima Al-Amiri announced 2,053 students have graduated during the first semester of 2020/2021/2020, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

She said the distributi­on of graduation certificat­es will continue until next week. Al-Amiri explained in a press note, the lists of graduates have been sent to the Civil Service Commission, and that coordinati­on has been establishe­d to extend the registrati­on period at the CSC.
