Amiri Diwan inks co-op protocols

Minister of the Amiri Diwan, Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah, signed a cooperatio­n protocol with the Public Authority for Agricultur­al Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) to hand over to the office 50 public parks and name them after the martyrs of the area in which the park is located after getting approval of citizens.

The Martyrs’ Honoring Office also signed with the DirectorGe­neral of Public Authority for Roads Transporta­tion (PART) Engr Suha Ashkanani, on behalf of Minister Rana Al-Faris, a cooperatio­n protocol to implement the project of naming public bridges on highways with the names of martyrs.

The work will be carried out on six bridges to place the names of groups of ‘Kuwaiti Resistance’ – the undergroun­d fighters who played a vital role during the Iraqi invasion of the country – and their martyrs on the highways.

The director of the Martyrs’ Honoring Office, Salah Al-Oufan, said this is to show appreciati­on for the martyrs who laid down their lives for the same of the nation.

Director General of the Public Authority for Agricultur­e, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Youssef, said it is right to honor the martyrs and preserve their lives so that they can be “a guiding light for our children to preserve and protect Kuwait.”

He pointed out the gardens will contain murals complete with all informatio­n about the martyr of the region. He indicated each park will be named after Martyrs of the area in which it is located, such as the Qurain Martyrs Park, Keifan, or Jahra, and so on.
