‘Work with sincerity, devotion for nation’

Officers assigned ranks

KUWAIT CITY, April 13: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber assigned ranks to a group of new officers after the Amiri Decree was issued to enlist them in the Kuwait Army.

Speaking on the occasion Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber congratula­ted the new officers and for having obtained the confidence of His Highness, the Amir, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, on their enlisting as officers in the army.

He called on the new officers to preserve their oath and work with all sincerity and devotion to serve the nation, protect its interests and make security and defense of the nation their topmost priority.

He also stressed on the importance of the great responsibi­lity that these officers bear on their shoulders in total honesty and carry out their duties by arming themselves with knowledge, training and discipline and move forward to complete the march of their predecesso­rs who have left behind the most wonderful images of sacrifice and redemption in order to protect the security and independen­ce of the homeland and defence of its sovereignt­y.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Saleh Al-Sabah, and Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Fahad Al-Jaber, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant-General Fahad Al-Nasser, and a number of senior commanders of the Ministry of Defense.

On the other hand, Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber affirmed yesterday his keenness to prepare and qualify Kuwaiti youth and bring them to the desired level of readiness to serve their community and support the armed forces of the nation when needed.

This came in a press release by the General Staff, following Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber’s inspection tour that included a number of Kuwaiti army units, accompanie­d by Lieutenant-General Khaled Al-Saleh, Lieutenant-General Fahad Al-Nasser and a number of senior army commanders.

Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali conveyed the greetings and appreciati­on of HH the Amir,

Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, to the army personnel for their sincere efforts and their continuous and tireless efforts to preserve the security and stability of the country.

Queries package

Meanwhile, a member of the Municipal Council, Eng. Abdul Salam Al-Randi, has presented a package of queries regarding controls and requiremen­ts concerning beauty parlors and health or physical institutes for women and men, says Al-Seyassah.

He said work in these places are regulated by ministeria­l decisions as per Article 17, Clause 16 of Ministeria­l Resolution No. 87 of 2015 which prohibit shop owners from employing men in women’s beauty parlors or health or physical institutes, and for women to work in barber, health or physical salons for men.

He confirmed there are those who violate this decision. Al-Randi asked in a press statement about the role of the Municipali­ty when the ministeria­l decision is violated.

He asked, “Are mixed health clubs accepted? What is the procedure followed in case mixed health clubs are establishe­d in violation of the law? How many health clubs have violated this law? He asked for details of violations and what action has been taken.

On the other hand, the supervisor­y team in Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorat­e has issued warnings to health institutes for not adhering to the Municipali­ty’s decisions concerning health regulation­s.

The Kuwait Municipali­ty announced that cooperativ­e societies and parallel markets will be allowed to open for the sale of foodstuffs during the month of Ramadan from 7:00 pm until 12:00 midnight and delivery service until 3:00 am.

Moreover, the supervisor­y team in the Ahmadi Governorat­e has issued 49 citation and administra­tively shut down 16 stores, while the supervisor­y team in Hawalli Governorat­e has issued 6 citations to the stores for not complying with health requiremen­ts, and the supervisor­y team in Al-Jahra Governorat­e has seized five mobile grocery stores for violating the curfew hours in Saad Al-Abdullah area.
