Martyr Saad Al-Enezi laid to rest

‘In the line of duty’

KUWAIT CITY, April 13: Kuwait yesterday afternoon laid to rest the remains of the martyr at the Sulaibikha­t cemetery who died while on police duty, patrolman Saad Salem Al-Enezi, who worked in the police force in the Capital governorat­e.

Al-Enezi was run over by a Kuwaiti at a checkpoint on the Maghreb Highway at the First Ring Road intersecti­on.

The burial ceremony was attended by his colleagues and family members.

The late Al-Enezi was part of a team manning a checkpoint on the Maghreb highway and the suspect in an attempt to flee from police knocked the victim who died on the spot. The suspect then drove off and crashed into a palm tree on the side of the road.

The suspect who was seriously injured was rushed to the Amiri Hospital and admitted under heavy security guard. Police found in the man’s vehicle drugs.

During the funeral, Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham conveyed the condolence­s of Interior Minister Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali and all senior officials of the ministry to the family of the martyr.

Al-Naham said the deceased is one of the sons of the Ministry of the Interior and the ministry is proud of these heroes who work for the sake of serving the country, and this is the least of what we offer to our dear homeland.

He stressed the ministry has taken all legal measures against the suspect and more precaution­ary measures will be taken at the security points in anticipati­on of the occurrence of similar incidents.
