Assembly nod awaited to disburse award to those working in election
KUWAIT CITY, April 13: The proposed financial reward for members of the judiciary and employees of authorities that operated during the National Assembly elections on Dec 5, 2020 will be disbursed upon approval of the Assembly, reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable sources.
Sources said this came amid questions about the justification for the delayed disbursement of the reward. They explained that “if the Assembly agrees to disburse the reward, it will be deposited directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries.” They added the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has nothing to do with the approval of such disbursement.
Although the government agencies have submitted the lists of their employees involved in organizing the election, the Assembly has yet to approve these lists as it has not convened for a long time, sources clarified.
Meanwhile, medical associations and unions said the political accountability of the health sector was carried out at a bad time and it led to confusion at work, reports Al-Jarida daily.
In a press statement recently, the medical associations and unions pointed out that efforts to deal with the corona pandemic could move from an acceptable and successful level to a bad one in which there is no other victim but the people.
The medical associations and unions called for avoiding political disputes which work against the background of the current positive results in the ongoing fight against corona.
They urged the National Assembly members to ignore certain voices that seem to be unaware of the seriousness of the situation if the health system remains chaotic as this could lead to dire consequences.
